Tony's love of bonsai has been on and off for over 31 years, since his son was born. Like most on the journey he has had trees die. He has spent money on top quality trees, that have died. And so it was on and off. 12 years ago he started training under
Mark d’Cruz
and his bonsai school to develop the right skills and techniques on how to maintain good quality bonsai. Along with this journey he began to realise the connection with Tai Chi and how they actually align with the placement of trees within their pots and the angles and which they are displayed. The classic principles of the Tai Chi column, as if the head is suspended from above, is the same as finding the centre line of the tree.
Tony was introduced and recommended by Mark to study Nobu Kajiwara, who interviewed me, before taking me on as his student of bonsai. Nubo’s served his apprenticeship with the famous Japanese Kato
brothers.
With Nubo Tony gained many insights in how his Tai Chi study connects with bonsai and how this really suits his nurturing personality from 43yrs as a hair sculpting artists along with his Tai chi and Qigong, breathing coaching and mindfulness. spending time with UK bonsai artists Will Baddeley, Wildwood Bonsai, and Granham Potter, Kaizan
Bonsai and Peter warren https://saruyama.co.uk Tony is now the founder member and chairman of Twickenham bonsai club https://www.facebook.com/twickenhambonsai/. Along with his responsibilities as the only Kew gardens bonsai volunteer.
Tai chi, "Supreme Ultimate" is a state of undifferentiated absolute and infinite potential. In Tony's Tai chi bonsai academy he will share these insights with those who wish to learn how to re-pot and take care of their bonsai trees energy, alignment and development. Combining yours with theirs.
